Schaben, Hagedorn earn first-team All-State Softball honors
STATE — Led by first-team selections Brooke Schaben and Ashley Hagedorn, four area softball players have been named to the 2010 Iowa Girls Coaches Association All-State Softball teams, released Friday.

All around the Kinglake West Uniting Church, the scars of the fire that swept through the surrounding hills a year ago are still visible. Yellow ribbons have been tied around the burnt tree trunks, as a symbol of hope and recovery after the fire that killed 42 local people.
