Scarred Kinglake commemorates deadly firestorm
All around the Kinglake West Uniting Church, the scars of the fire that swept through the surrounding hills a year ago are still visible. Yellow ribbons have been tied around the burnt tree trunks, as a symbol of hope and recovery after the fire that killed 42 local people.
