you are a 100% right, but without giving ourselves entirely to one person how can we ever be expected to give our partner the respect they deserve? with multi partners comes multiple sets of baggage and preconceived notions of what a relationship should be. by treating marriage with the respect it deserves we treat our partners with the respect they deserve because it is required of a healthy marriage.
But here’s where we disagree: I don’t think that such a commitment can only come from marriage. I believe that a boyriend/girlfriend relationship can also be loving, loyal and respectul.
It comes down to what we believe I think. If one believes that only marriage is the right way to give and recieve respect then you might not be as willing to make an effort when you’r just in a “regular” relationship.
lifelong commitment to one partner is the only true way to respect them. which means not previously having other partners.

I love Ellen to death and I always love watching her, but Oprah is not jealous of Ellen. She has no reason to be! She’s a multi-billionaire and has been a household name all over the world before most of us even knew who Ellen was! Oprah is pretty much a legend in her own right, which is intimidating in itself, but she also has a regal air about her that can be confused with haughtiness. But she and Ellen are friends so let’s try not to pick sides. They’re both awesome!
