It happened here in Britain, with X Factor taking over Pop Idol, so I don’t know why Fox are talking of keeping both shows over there. Without Simon Cowell American Idol is doomed, i’m telling you. It’s just another version, revamped to look like something new altogether to ensure those big bucks keep rolling in. Idol and the mighty X are the same thing

Cowell plans to bring X Factor to the States. My guess is Idol will fizzle out unless they find a great Judge to replace Simon. Fans will follow Simon.

Cowell does not own the rights for American Idol, but he does own the rights for X-Factor, and therefore will make a lot more money quitting Pop Idol and doing X-Factor.
Anyone who believes Cowell is in it for the ‘music’ is a moron.
Both programmes will be filmed and aired.
X factor is going to be much bigger over there due to age range and groups applying can you imagine them turning up in millions so would imagine idol may go as there will be no time for both. Ihad a feeling tis would happen eventual and idol may have had its day now
