January 13th 2009 marks the premiere of a new season of the popular TV show American Idol, Season 8. The first day of the show has just started tonight, at 8 pm on FOX, with a flashback in the past, to Season 1 of the show featuring the judge Simon Cowell. Then, the historical highlights of this previous American Idol season, set up on “what a Wonderful World”, the famous Louis Armstrong song. I though we are going to see a brief history of all seasons ever, but after featuring a couple of moments with Sanjaya and William Hung, it moved to the last season, reminding us of David Archuleta and David Cook. Of course we had to watch lots of commercials, but everybody I’ve asked about the show, said they were impressed with the new judge, Kara DioGuardi, a song writer who worked with previous winners of American Idol.

Some of the funniest contestants were “Bikini Girl” and “Sexual Choolate”, but we’ve also noticed Scott McIntyre the blind guy with great voice, Cody Shelton, who was appreciated by all four judges, Emily Wynne-Hughes, the red headed girl from California and Arianna.
